Although some believe that ending this practice would be beneficial to the economy and the environment, I believe that the negative consequences would outweigh the benefits. The advantages of halting food exports are twofold. In terms of the environment, delivering food necessitates the employment of thousands of lorries and several planes, all of which contribute to pollution due to the numerous emissions that must be produced on a daily basis. This has a harmful impact on people’s health and may contribute to global warming. Furthermore, ending the practice will lead to consumers just buying local food, boosting local economies as farmers become more profitable as they sell more.

There are, however, drawbacks to this. One issue is that many countries, particularly emerging ones, now rely heavily on exports of their goods. Many countries have vast swaths of plantations and commodities that are solely sold to foreign markets, providing not just cash to farmers but also employment to thousands of locals working on farms all over the world. Furthermore, consumers have become increasingly reliant on imported goods; without them, they would be unable to cook or eat many of their favorite recipes, and many restaurants that rely on food exports may go out of business.

To address this issue, a government should allocate more funds to improve national production by maximizing research center-farmer collaboration. More talented individuals could be involved in domestic food production as a result of related university courses and diploma programs.
